The Tarnish

The Tarnish

This drink gets such a nice ruby red colour from the cassis. And it tastes as good as it looks. They smokiness of the mezcal combines with the sweet liqueur in a really pleasant way. The sparkling club soda helps refresh things and it all turns out in the most delicious of ways. The Tarnish Recipe from “Tequila & Mezcal” by Sondlo & Rapp Ingredients: 1,25 oz mezcal 0,25 oz rhum Agricole 0,25 oz crème de cassis 1 oz lime juice 0,5 oz simple syrup Club soda Mixing: Shake all ingredients

The (D)rum Roll

The (D)rum Roll

This recipe is to show how easy it can be to mix a nice rum highball drink at home. All the ingredients used are poured straight into a tall glass, after which you’re ready to enjoy. The art of mixology doesn’t have to be more complicated than that. We’ve also tried to stick to ingredients that you keep at home anyway. Once again, although it is fun to explore new ingredients, staying on the lookout for peculiarities, often it is also nice to just be able to grab what you have and turn it int

Manzana, Naranja, Caña

Manzana, Naranja, Caña

With spring and soon summer approaching Sweden we wanted to mix and shoot this cocktail outside. The fair-trade-certified Nicaraguan rum from Flor de Caña [https://flordecana.com/] is produced very close to an active volcano, which we think is so awesome to know. And even if the air is nowhere near as hot here in Sweden at the moment, we still wanted to mimic the natural elements of the Flor de Caña rum production site. In this drink we are mixing rum with apple juice and orange liqueur. Femme Fatale

Femme Fatale

A huge inspiration to us is Madeleine Solo Rapp [https://www.instagram.com/madeleinesolorapp/] - she's a very experienced bartender having worked at some high profile bars around the world. This is her “Femme Fatale” that she created while bartending at the Dead Rabbit bar in New York City. We love that this cocktail features a very Swedish ingredient, lingonberry preserves. Because yes, Madeleine is Swedish, and we think it's very cool how this every now and then shows in her cocktail recipe

DAVY JONES’S LOCKER

DAVY JONES’S LOCKER

This drink mixes rum and Fernet-Branca in an unexpected way, and it works fantastically well. The bitter Fernet and the somehow sweet rum marries, and is well supported by the sour/bitter grapefruit juice. Cinnamon syrup is super easy to make yourself. We pour simple syrup into a glass bottle and add a cinnamon stick. Then we just let it sit in the fridge for a week or so before we use it. EL DUQUE

EL DUQUE

We have always liked coffee, and it's no exception even if the coffee is in a cocktail. In fact, coffee is a perfect ingredient in drinks which this El Duque is a good example of. We actually used cold brew espresso, from Sidekick Cold Brew [https://sidekickcoldbrew.se/], to give the drink that extra kick! Cream sherry is another favourite ingredient. It is not very heavy on alcohol, but it tastes fantastic and gives the drink a beautiful amber color. The hefty amount of rum clearly defin

The Queen Mother Cocktail

The Queen Mother Cocktail

With this cocktail we welcome 2020 into our lives. We think this is a typical cocktail summing up everything the two of us love about drinks. It has an elegant feel to it, it uses an intriguing mix of ingredients, it looks beautiful poured into a nice coupe and of course it tastes phenomenal. Gin is a staple in our home bar. There are so many varieties today, but if we were only allowed to bring one single bottle of spirit to a desserted island it would probably be a typical London dry gin. A

Nog

Nog

This is a very Christmassy drink, it's frothy, spicy, creamy and boozy. The Zacapa 23 rum is a great choice in this drink, it blends very smoothly with the horchata. And with Christmas just around the corner, this is our way of wishing everybody a Merry Christmas! Nog Recipe by Josephine Sondlo Ingredients: 1,5 oz Zacapa 23 rum 1,5 oz horchata* Mixing: Shake both ingredients with fresh ice and strain into a glass. Grate some nutmeg over. *To make the horchata, mix 1 deciliter each of
