DAVY JONES’S LOCKER

DAVY JONES’S LOCKER

This drink mixes rum and Fernet-Branca in an unexpected way, and it works fantastically well. The bitter Fernet and the somehow sweet rum marries, and is well supported by the sour/bitter grapefruit juice. Cinnamon syrup is super easy to make yourself. We pour simple syrup into a glass bottle and add a cinnamon stick. Then we just let it sit in the fridge for a week or so before we use it. SUN STEALER

SUN STEALER

We think the Japanese Roku gin is so elegant, and this is the perfect cocktail to showcase it in. Because there is a lot of gin in it, making this a martini-styled drink. But there is sweet vermouth instead of dry, plus there are two surprising additions of sweet chocolate liqueur and super bitter Fernet-Branca. It all comes together beautifully and forms an interesting and intriguing drink that we are likely to make gain. Sun Stealer Recipe by Henry Prendergast Ingredients: 2 oz gin

Coup d'etat

Coup d'etat

We had a feeling this one could end up a little on the sweet side according to our personal taste - and it kind of did… However it's basically only the amount of grenadine used that determines the level of sweetness, so it can be easily adjusted. Next time we will only use 0,5 oz of grenadine.⁣ ⁣ And we will most likely make this drink again, because it's an interesting one. Scotch on its own is delicious, and the Haig Club we are using is particularly good to mix with. Punt e Mes is a bitter-

Oh, are there some nice ingredients in this one?! Cognac cocktails are always so luxurious - just like sipping Champagne. This is probably the first time we've seen it paired with genever though, and we think they work brilliantly together.⁣ ⁣ The addition of Punt e Mes and a tiny amount of Fernet-Branca gives the drink both its amber colour as well as some intriguing taste.⁣ ⁣ For us this was a great nightcap, and it's one we will probably enjoy more times. In the photos we tried our best to

Fernet Buck

Fernet Buck

Fernet-Branca is often used in small quantities, but in this drink it plays the lead role. Being deliciously bitter on its own, it pairs well with the sweetness of ginger beer and sourness of the fresh lime.⁣ ⁣ Long-drinks are so great, you can really enjoy them in big gulps given the low alcohol by volume. Ginger beer is actually really good on its own, but the Fernet-Branca certainly enhances it in this fantastic recipe.⁣ FERNET BUCK Recipe from bar Deep Ellum of Allston⁣ Ingredients: 1,5

Bartender's Bingo

Bartender's Bingo

A lot of ingredients, and a lot of originators. This is the Bartender's Bingo by Luke O'Neil, Evan Kenney and Sam Gabrielli. According to the legend this cocktail started out as a parody. But the result turned out so delicious, the cocktail ended up on the menu of a bar in Somerville, USA. So yes, you need to bring out a lot of bottles, squeeze both lemon and lime, produce a lot of bitter dashes and then put all bottles back again. Is it worth it you may ask yourself… …we say yes! This drink

Sloe And Unsteady

Sloe And Unsteady

Sloe Gin is so colorful, and always fun to use because of that. So when we saw the Sloe And Unsteady by Jessica Sanders in Imbibe Magazine we needed to try out the recipe. When the slightly sweet sloe gin is combined with bitter Fernet a really interesting cocktail emerges. Apparently this is one of the bestsellers at Drink well in Austin, and we totally see why! Sloe And Unsteady Recipe Ingredients: 1,5 oz sloe gin 0,5 oz Fernet-Branca 0,5 oz lime juice 0,5 oz honey syrup 2 dashes Angostura

Jitterbug

Jitterbug

Let's kick off this new year, called 2018, with our new year resolutions and a cocktail containing exactly what's needed after yesterday's celebrations, fresh coffee! The recipe for the Jitterbug is from bar Canon's book. What's particularly fun about this cocktail is that the coffee creates this wonderful foam when shaken together with the other ingredients. Feeling very awake and alert after all this coffee, we start to contemplate our cocktail new year resolutions for 2018; 1) We definitel
