We’ve been generously provided with a sample of Glenmorangie’s [https://www.glenmorangie.com/en-int/our-whiskies/a-tale-of-cake] new cake inspired whisky. And along with the bottle came a gorgeous pineapple cake, inspired by the whisky - or was it maybe the whisky that was inspired by the cake… …anyway, here Glenmorangie celebrates the joy of a cake moment in a sweet and indulgent single malt Scotch whisky. Inspired by favorite memories of baking, birthdays and more, this whisky is not at all

So we were quite excited when Rubis Blanc [https://www.instagram.com/rubisblancspirit/] asked us if we wanted to make a cocktail with their white whiskey. As we always do we new spirits, we taste it completely natural at first, not mixed in any way. And the very first sip of this transparent whiskey reminded us so much of an elegant Cognac… …hence we quickly decided we wanted to do a Sidecar riff. We used Rubis Blanc instead of Cognac, and we used home-made rhubarb syrup instead of regular si

Matcha Highball

Matcha Highball

Using matcha green tea powder in drinks is fantastic. It gives the cocktail a pleasant earthy flavour and a mesmerizing green colour. This was also a very satisfying way to try out our bottle of Ichiros whisky that we bought in Japan a few months ago. It got to shine in this whisky highball for sure and stood up proudly to all that competing tea flavour. Kanpai! ONE HOT GINGER

ONE HOT GINGER

#TikitheSnowAway Yes, it's time to melt some snow again with tiki drinks, in this fun January event arranged by @homebargirl [https://www.instagram.com/homebargirl/] and @ntitz [https://www.instagram.com/ntitz/] While this One Hot Ginger might officially not be a tiki drink (no rum, no tiki mug) we still get some exotic vibes from it. And as it is a hot drink it certainly does a good job at melting some snow away. The recipe calls for bourbon, but we chose to go with Bulleit's rye, whic

Old Fashioned

Old Fashioned

We've posted a few variations throughout the years, but believe it or not this is our first post of the classic Old Fashioned recipe. A cocktail cannot get more iconic can it? Watching old movies or TV-series where cocktails are featured, it's almost always an Old Fashioned (or well, possibly a Dry Martini). What we especially appreciate about an Old Fashioned is its many layers, despite its relatively simple and straightforward recipe. That whisky combined with just sugar and two bitters t

Whisky Highball

Whisky Highball

This is such a simple cocktail, yet it is surprisingly complex. Something happens when whisky is mixed with sparkling water. With this gorgeous drink we would like to wish everybody a happy Friday! Whisky Highball Ingredients: 1-3 oz whisky Mixing: In a highball glass add 1-3 oz of whisky according to taste and mood. Top up with club soda and gently stir. Potentially add ice cubes and then drink immediately. Glassware: highball

Revolver

Revolver

We were kindly gifted a sample of “Balvenie Stories, The Sweet Toast of American Oak” - a whisky aged for 12 years. After a straight sip we also decided we wanted to use it in a cocktail. However with such a characteristic and high quality whisky we really wanted to make a cocktail in which the whisky was the defining ingredient. And the Revolver cocktail was the answer. In one way it can't get more simple - just whisky, coffee and bitters. On the other hand this is such a complex cocktail wi

MacNamara Rose

MacNamara Rose

This bright red cocktail is very tasty with its whiskey, Lillet rosé and Aperol mix and those very noticeable flavors from the cucumber. We're always amazed at how versatile Aperol is, it can be used in so many different kind of drinks, and it always tastes fantastic. Of course it is also nice that it contributes with such a gorgeous colour. We were very generous on the cucumber garnish, and those ribbons actually doubled as a healthy drink snack as well! MacNamara Rose Recipe by Joaqu
