Beets by Tjoget

Beets by Tjoget

As a love letter to Tjoget [https://tjoget.com/], Sweden's only bar (so far) on the World's 50 best bars list, we have made their signature cocktail “Beets by Tjoget” from scratch, in our home bar. There are five ingredients needed to make this drink, and at least four of them require som planning ahead. Some of the ingredients could potentially be bought ready-made, but here we went all in, making everything ourselves. In this post we will show you how to prepare: - Beet infused vodka (sou

Our Saturday afternoon cocktail is made with elderflower liqueur from Spriteriet [https://spriteriet.se/] - produced very close to where we live. It has e very natural and refreshing flavour - it tastes a lot of elderflower! In this drink, called the Johanna, vodka is the base. It is unusual for us to fall for these type of drinks, but we thought neutral vodka was perfect to pair the premium elderflower with. And so it was! The drink became just as refreshing as we'd hoped for. A good sum

Yes we are using vodka! It's rare but this is proof it does happen! But this punch is topped up with so many other good things, or how about gorgeous Swedish cassis liqueur from Hernö Gin [https://hernogin.com/] and bubbly Monopole Champagne? Long-drinks are nice and we usually have them with our weekend dinners. Even though we would never say no to a glass of wine, sometimes switching it for a good low ABV cocktail can be so good. Russian Spring Punch Recipe by Dick Bradsell Ingredien

So apparently one of our favourite bars in NYC, Cienfuegos [http://www.cienfuegosny.com/], closed recently. We're actually a bit saddened about that. It was Brian over at Eat This NY [http://eatthisny.com/] who introduced us to Cienfuegos during one of his guided cocktail tours through lower Manhattan a few years ago. Luckily we still have a souvenir skull cocktail pick from the bar. We got it in one of their very strong zombie cocktail and kept it as a fond memory. Today that particular pic

When Steve of @boxesandbooze [https://www.instagram.com/boxesandbooze/] told us he had a puzzle box by a Swedish cabinet maker to showcase, and that he wanted to find a cocktail to pair it with we couldn't resist but to help in the search.⁣ ⁣ Because that's what Steve does, both on Instagram and on his blog. He pairs collectable hand made puzzle boxes with cocktails, and his approach is both unique and fascinating. And he certainly finds the most exquisite boxes, little pieces of art and craft

Take a look at this portable vodka from Dervana Vodka [http://www.dervana.com/] founded in Sweden back in 2018. It comes in mini bar sized bottles, which becomes completely flat when the vodka is gone. So the Flatiron Martini seemed fitting to make. It's an elegant riff, adding Lillet Blanc and orange liqueur to the vodka itself. We thought the drink was delightful. And although being no vodka connoisseurs we can tell the Dervana vodka is of high quality! We also think the packaging looks re

We had some elderflower liqueur left and wanted to use it in a new drink. We found The Confident Man and thought it sounded like a drink we would enjoy. And we did! This is a bittersweet cocktail that mixes grapefruit and Aperol but balances it with the sweet elderflower. The vodka is what creates the booziness in the drink. We don’t use vodka very often, but thought it worked well in this recipe combined with quite a few other ingredients with characteristic flavors. The Confident Man Recipe

Living up to our name, we will soon go on a rather big detour to find some great cocktails - we are off to Australia! What’s so exotic about Australia to us Swedes, is that it is located half way around the world, and that they have summer when we have winter. So by making this drink we wanted to take a break from mulled wines, glögg and egg nogs, to rather shake up a summer berries cocktail reminding us of things to come. We like that this cocktail uses blackberry purée. We bought frozen berr
