120 Fizz

120 Fizz

Now don't get us wrong - we love to mix drinks from scratch. But when we were asked to try out Swedish drink mixers from Carlbaum's [http://carlbaums.nu/] we couldn't resist. They craft their small batch mixers using Primofiori-lemons from Spanish Murcia. And you can definitely taste those lovely lemons. Despite there being both rhubarb and elderflower in the mix, the sweetness from those is very well balanced thanks to the lemons. It's truly delicious and the drink that was very quickly crea

Nutty Basil

Nutty Basil

We are using our home-grown basil in a rather unusual drink today. First we turned the fresh basil into a syrup by simply muddling a handful of leaves at the bottom of a shaker, then adding some regular simple syrup. The syrup is then paired with this peculiar olive gin that we've used once before. It works very well with other earthy flavours, such as those from basil. Also super intriguing is the white wine vinegar, bringing up the acidic levels as well as noticeably flavouring the drink.

When O'live Gin [https://www.olivegin.com/] kindly offered us to sample their pretty unique product, a gin made with olives, we knew we wanted to make some kind of The Last Word riff with it. ⠀ ⠀ Immediately we thought of spicy Ancho Reyes Verde, another “green” product we like, along with Chartreuse. We contemplated if equal parts would mean the heat from the chili liqueur would be overwhelming, but it turned out to work perfectly, making this recipe much more easy to remember.⠀ ⠀ The olive g

When @sohodrinks [https://www.instagram.com/sohodrinks/] kindly offered us to try their rather unique juices we wanted to find the perfect cocktail to use juice in. (Pardon the pun, just had to write it that way haha).⁣ ⁣ ⁣In this drink we are trying the apple, honey & lemon juice from Soho Juice Co [https://sohojuice.co.uk/index.html] and it works brilliantly in this gin- and apple cocktail. The juice incorporates all the flavors of the drink and that way it enhances the whole drinking experi

The Cornell Special

The Cornell Special

It's soon empty, our bottle of Porter's Gin [https://portersgin.co.uk/]. The second last drink we're using it in had to be a classic. And it works brilliantly in this recipe adapted from Harry Craddock.⁣ ⁣ Benedictine is an interesting herbal liqueur, and it works really well in gin cocktails. The Cornell Special is a good example of that, especially as it is an equal part recipe so no ingredient overpowers the other.⁣ ⁣ We've always liked sour cocktails a little bit extra, and with a full flu

Gin & Tonic

Gin & Tonic

We are finally trying out the color changing Illusionist Gin [https://theillusionist-gin.de/] in a classic Gin & Tonic. Pouring up the intense blue/purple gin is so intriguing. We think it’s nice to do this straight over ice-cubes in a highball glass. ⁣ ⁣ Then when the tonic water is added the magic happens. The color of the gin changes from blue to pink the more tonic water you add. We topped up the glass and ended up with the most lovely pale pink colored drink, making a very visual impact.⁣

The Rosé Bouquet

The Rosé Bouquet

When we were challenged to use rosé wine in a cocktail we immediately started to search for a good recipe. It turns out there are actually lots of them and in the end we had a hard time picking only one. “The Rosé Bouquet” we chose for two reasons; it has grapefruit juice in it which we love, and we happened to have a bouquet of tulips at home making the prefect side garnish for this drink.⁣ ⁣ There's a certain dryness to rosé wine that makes it work pretty well as a cocktail ingredient. It's
