Manzana, Naranja, Caña

With spring and soon summer approaching Sweden we wanted to mix and shoot this cocktail outside. The fair-trade-certified Nicaraguan rum from Flor de Caña [https://flordecana.com/] is produced very close to an active volcano, which we think is so awesome to know. And even if the air is nowhere near as hot here in Sweden at the moment, we still wanted to mimic the natural elements of the Flor de Caña rum production site. In this drink we are mixing rum with apple juice and orange liqueur. We love how this recipe highlights Byrrh, an aromatised wine-based apéritif that is excellent in cocktails. Combining it with orange is even more fantastic and the flavors play so well together. Byrrh Orange Recipe from “Apéritif” Ingredients: 1,5 oz dry vermouth 0,75 oz Byrrh 0,5 oz orange liqueur 2 dashes orange bitters Mixing: Stir all ingredients with fresh ice and strain into a lowball glass. Water Lemon

Water Lemon

Water Lily is a classic cocktail made with gin, orange liqueur, lemon juice and Crème de Violette. By substituting the latter for Kokoro Gin's blueberry and lemongrass liqueur we created the Water Lemon. In this one we are also using Kokoro gin [https://kokorogin.com/] which is made with Japanese sansho berries. They give the gin a rather unique botanical touch, that we appreciate a lot. Thanks to the blueberry liqueur this cocktail gets a nice pale blue colour. And while it's actually a

It's more than a month since we returned home from our visit to Japan, where we got to see Kyoto, Osaka and Tokyo close up. It was two unforgettable weeks, and we feel so inspired by it, also when it comes to cocktailing. So we were extra thrilled when Kokoro gin [https://kokorogin.com/] reached out, asking us to create a cocktail with their gin and their liqueurs. We knew straight away we wanted to go as Japanese as possible, both in flavor and looks. Now the Kokoro gin is actually produc

Corpse Reviver No. 2

The Jawbox [https://jawboxgin.com/story] gin that we are using today is a particularly good one, made in Belfast. In the gin there are eleven different botanicals, one of them being local Belfast Black Mountain Heather. It's a potent and powerful gin that we knew we needed to use in a similarly styled cocktail. A classic Corpse Reviver No. 2 was decided upon. It is one of our favourite drinks, as we love both gin and Absinth. The licorice notes from the Absinth worked in perfect harmony with

It's when the purple crème de cassis blends with the other three pale ingredients that this drink comes to live. Enhanced by some purple synthetic feathers and lime zest a really colourful cocktail is born. Crème de cassis is supposed to float on top of the drink in this recipe, but it just doesn't work. The density of the blackcurrant liqueur is way too high (thanks to the sugar) to work as a float. But even when the liqueur dives to the bottom of the glass it still looks pretty pretty. Secon

We had a feeling this one could end up a little on the sweet side according to our personal taste - and it kind of did… However it's basically only the amount of grenadine used that determines the level of sweetness, so it can be easily adjusted. Next time we will only use 0,5 oz of grenadine.⁣ ⁣ And we will most likely make this drink again, because it's an interesting one. Scotch on its own is delicious, and the Haig Club we are using is particularly good to mix with. Punt e Mes is a bitter-

A few weeks ago we celebrated midsummer in Sweden. It is one of the occasions when drinking akvavit is extra appropriate. Akvavit is a traditional, strong and spicy spirit that is consumed throughout the Nordic countries. This brand new version from Stockholms Bränneri [http://www.stockholmsbranneri.com/] is flavoured with dill flower, elderflower and juniper. And especially because of the juniper this akvavit has a certain gin feeling to it, which is absolutely delicious. In this recipe the
