Old Alhambra

Old Alhambra

Always excited to make chocolate cocktails. In this one there is just a touch of it though, so it certainly doesn't overwhelm the cocktail. What it rather does is to smooth out the smokey scotch in a quite clever way. Left behind is a mellow and round cocktail, further enhanced by the rich cream sherry and some delicious vermouth. Still, we just had to shoot this cocktail surrounded by cacao nibs… Old Alhambra Recipe by Leo Robitschek Ingredients: 0,25 oz white crème de cacao 0,5 oz cream she

The Swedish cherries are here, and we wanted that to permeate this post. While not using the cherries in the actual cocktail they made a perfect side snack to be enjoyed together with the drink. And, with Heering in the ingredients list there is still cherry in the cocktail, although Danish rather than Swedish. The cocktail turned out nicely, maybe a little on the sweet side. If you prefer more sour drinks cut down on the simple syrup, or just leave it out completely. Brace Position Recipe by G

Crooked Kilt

Crooked Kilt

Vacay! The summer vacation is always exciting. Usually a time to travel, explore new cities, and of course new bars and cocktails. In today's post we have tried to transfer these vacation vibes into a cocktail. We chose to make a Crooked Kilt by Leo Robitschek because it's based around pineapple juice. And nothing says vacation, as much as pineapple now does it? Here we are using Naked Grouse [https://nakedgrouse.com/] blended scotch, which is just perfect in cocktails like this. Not overpowe

Shipwrecked

Shipwrecked

The Shipwrecked cocktail by Raffi Jergerian might be more of an autumn cocktail. But we gladly made it also now during spring as it's anyway such a delicious cocktail. With both rum and cinnamon syrup in the ingredients list this is kind of a tiki cocktail, minus the traditional tiki styling and garnishing. What might look like a simple cocktail when served turns out to be a quite complex flavor experience. The rum paired with the scotch, accompanied by cinnamon and sweet Drambuie surely creat

The Last Laph

The Last Laph

The Last Laph - the name of this cocktail has a few different meanings. First it's a play on Laphroaig, the brand of smoky scotch originally used in this drink. Secondly it's a nod towards classic cocktail The Last Word also being a four ingredients equal part recipe. Third, whoever drinks this cocktail might get the last laugh. It's a surprising cocktail with lots of memorable flavors. The recipe is by Justin Lavenue [https://www.instagram.com/justbitters/]. Mixing scotch and ginger make y

Boulevardier

Boulevardier

#nakedgrouse_partner The Boulevardier is striking for several reasons. First, there's the ruby red colour thanks to the Campari. Secondly the flavor is so nicely balanced. We are using Naked Grouse scotch whisky which works brilliantly in this classic cocktail. And third, it's a three ingredients only recipe, with sweet vermouth as the final ingredient. The Naked Grouse is a blended malt scotch whisky based around a few different whiskies with Highland Park being one of them. Normally whisky i

Exile in Ryeville

Exile in Ryeville

The Exile in Ryeville cocktail, found in Brad Thomas Parsons's book Bitters, is a twist on a classic Sidecar. The smokey rinse is rather spectacular. Even though it's just a few drops of the Scotch that actually stays in the cocktail, you can definitely taste it. And we think whisky blends really well with honey. The Penicillin cocktail is a classic example of that, but also this cocktail proves the point. Exile in Ryeville Recipe Ingredients: 1,5 oz rye 0,5 oz Cointreau 0,25 oz lemon juice
