Maybe you shouldn't carve and cocktail at the same, but we did it anyway - with great caution of course. Because inspired by Moa Ott and Highland Park we carved a wooden spoon ourselves, and we did so while sipping on this cocktail. Made with Highland Park scotch and mixed in a rather peculiar way with tequila and herbal liqueur this drink is pretty fascinating. It has a really nice aroma and it tastes wonderful. The carving of a wooden spoon went surprisingly well. Thankfully Moa had done

Rye has always a favorite drink base for us, and this one from Michter's is fantastic in this interesting cocktail. The stiff rye is mixed with more subtle Solera sherry as well as amaro Nonino. It results in a nice sipping drink, perfect either before or after a good dinner (or both). Recipe by Alex Day Ingredients: 1 oz rye 1 oz amaro Nonino 1 oz East India Solera sherry 1 dash orange bitters Mixing: Stir all ingredients with fresh ice and strain into a coupe. No garnish needed. Gla

When we recently received volume 2 of Åhus Akvavit's cocktail book, we were immediately drawn to this recipe. The freshness of lemongrass combined with stingy ginger beer and the very Scandinavian akvavit creates a very exotic but still balanced drink. Using akvavit in drinks is becoming more and more common, and we dig it! It's a product packed with flavour, often from spices and herbs. To us akvavit is often more exciting compared to plain vodka, and it can really bring character to a drink

This is one of those recipes that shouldn't really work, but at the end do so! Because who would have thought that super bitter Campari, super sweet blackcurrant liqueur and super sour lime could form such a wonderfully complex, tasty and memorable drink! So do you trust us, and drink composer Rafael? The truth is in the pudding - and if you do go ahead and try it - then let us know what you thought. (It's worth mentioning that we found the recipe in Gary Regan's cocktail bible “The Joy of

We thought it was fun making this sour drink that taste a lot like lime although no lime is used. Instead we made a limeless solution by combining 20 grams of malic acid with 40 grams of citric acid and 1 liter of water. (Just stir to combine). Is it the same thing as lime? No it's not, and that's the whole idea. By using real lime a vegetal element is added along with the acid. By using the limeless solution we get the acidity but not the fruit. Instead it is the liqueurs, Cointreau and L

Another drink made with new Bolivian acquaintances La República gin and Yerbasanta vermouth. They make the perfect power couple in this globetrotter drink. Gin is so good in long-drinks we think. That tangy taste goes well with low-ABV ingredients such as vermouth or sherry, and then just a splash of simple syrup sweetens things up. Lemon juice balances everything and some heavily carbonated water gives just the right fizz. Recipe by Cocktail Detour Ingredients: 1 orange wheel 1 dash bi

This recipe, adapted from Kyle Webster, takes the well-known Daiquiri in a much more Swedish direction. Using Åhus Akvavit as the main ingredient we think turns this drink into a rather luxurious experience. Recipe adapted from Kyle Webster, Ingredients: 2 oz akvavit 0,75 oz lime juice 0,5 oz rich simple syrup Mixing: Shake all ingredients with fresh ice and fine strain into a coupe. Glassware: coupe

There was a period when we met Tiff & Joe of @twocoupes [https://www.instagram.com/twocoupes/] quite often. It happened first in New York City at the Maze bar. Then Tiff's dancing brought her via a cruise to a brief stop to Sweden and we had lunch with her. Fast forward and Tiff was back in Stockholm but this time also bringing Joe. And then late 2019 we visited them again in New York City. But since then, the pandemic has somehow stopped these fun meetups. So instead we are now making one of
