THAT’LL TAKE THE EDGE OFF

THAT’LL TAKE THE EDGE OFF

A drink to drink by the fire place. This one is boozy, and it's a play on the much appreciated classic Sazerac cocktail. We're using Naked Grouse scotch, which works fantastic in high ABV-drinks like this one, where the whisky is in focus. The absinth rinse is brilliant, just a tiny amount goes a very long way and you might actually wanna use less than the suggested 0,25 oz if your'e not used to absinth. That'll take the edge off Recipe from “Be your own Bartender” Ingredients: 2 oz sco

SUN STEALER

SUN STEALER

We think the Japanese Roku gin is so elegant, and this is the perfect cocktail to showcase it in. Because there is a lot of gin in it, making this a martini-styled drink. But there is sweet vermouth instead of dry, plus there are two surprising additions of sweet chocolate liqueur and super bitter Fernet-Branca. It all comes together beautifully and forms an interesting and intriguing drink that we are likely to make gain. Sun Stealer Recipe by Henry Prendergast Ingredients: 2 oz gin

This is another scotch cocktail that's really easy to make. You don't need a lot of bottles and you don't need a lot of equipment. Just stir scotch and sweet vermouth together. What we think is extra nice to do with these “simple” recipes though, is to serve them in the most elegant glassware we can find. An easy cocktail served in an intricate glass is so nice we think. In the cocktail on the photo we used Naked Grouse scotch and Antica Formula sweet vermouth. But any good scotch and sw

Post Shift

Post Shift

This is a really elegant cocktail featuring two of our favourite liqueurs, Maraschino and green Chartreuse. Both of them blend smoothly with the equally elegant Cognac and it creates a rather high ABV drink, that you'd want to sip slowly. The golden glowing colour is so vibrant, and we think it signals autumn in the best of ways. Cheers! Post Shift Recipe by Ryan Thacker Ingredients: 1,5 oz Cognac 0,5 oz green Chartreuse 0,5 oz Maraschino liqueur 0,5 oz sweet vermouth 1 barspoon demera

Blood & Skar

Blood & Skar

This is a Blood and Sand riff, using akvavit rather than rum. It makes this cocktail much more Scandinavian, and as Swedes that's something we have to love. By the way, anybody knows the Swedish word for blood? And even trickier, what's the Swedish word for sand? The glassware deserves a mentioning of its own. We were gifted this glass a few years ago, and we only use it for bold, confident and daring cocktails. Blod & Skar is certainly such a cocktail. Blod & Skar Recipe by Sean Davey Ing

Solbeso & Orange

Solbeso & Orange

Chocolaty Solbeso and sweet orange juice is combined with vermouth in this wonderful recipe. Equal parts of these three ingredients pair extremely well and results in a summery yet still rather stiff cocktail. When the sun hit the glass during our photo shoot, the cocktail almost looked like the sun itself. Hence we had to take at least one photo from above to show off the drink's sunny qualities. Oh yes to sipping on this one during summer nights at the balcony! Solbeso & Orange Recipe In

Ants in the Pants

Ants in the Pants

With a name like that, there's no chance we would not shake the cocktail. Ants in the pants might not be what you get from drinking this cocktail, but it sure is fun thinking about how it got its name.⠀ ⠀ ⠀ Here we are trying out a new sweet vermouth to us, the Carpano Classico, which is the sibling of the Antica Formula we used in one of our posts from last week. We also tried it neat and it's a rich and tasty vermouth that you could happily drink on its own. ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ The glasses are thrift shop f
