We've been reading the book “Tequila & Mezcal” (only in Swedish) by Josephine Sondlo and Madeleine Solo Rapp from cover to cover the last weeks. And there are so many great recipes in this book it was almost difficult to decide what to start with!

However, the cocktail on the book's cover is a Red Viper, and this is the one we eventually decided to make first of all:

Now our cocktail turned out a little less red compared to the cover version. Probably because we used Carpano Antica Formula sweet vermouth and Liber & Co grenadine, both being more gold coloured rather than red. The taste however was probably similar. Mezcal is so good! We can't get enough of that smokiness, that really comes through also in this cocktail. It's a very sophisticated spirit that everyone definitely should try, especially tequila lovers.

The book itself is a couple of years old. Today Josephine and Madeleine are both superstars. Josephine mainly in Sweden, within several different cocktail related projects and Madeleine as a bartender at award winning Dead Rabbit in NYC. We seriously believe they are still mezcal lovers, and if we would ever run into them where they work we would without hesitation order their choice of a mezcal or tequila based cocktail.

Why clear ice makes cocktails more beautiful.

The Importance of Ice

When it comes to crafting exceptional cocktails, every detail matters—and ice is no exception. Clear ice has become a hallmark of professional mixology, elevating drinks in both aesthetics and functionality. Unlike cloudy ice, clear ice is free of impurities and air bubbles, offering a pristine, glass-like appearance that enhances the visual appeal of any cocktail. But it's not just about looks. Clear ice is denser and melts more slowly, keeping your drink colder for longer without diluting its

A Spirit(ual) Journey Throughout the North of Sweden

It has always been on our wishlist, to tour the more northern parts of Sweden. Our interest in spirits and cocktails have taken us to many places in Sweden and abroad, but until now not really more north than Uppsala. Well this just changed, as we got the chance to pay a visit to gin producer Norrbottens Destilleri. And this was just the start of five fantastic days, driving between so many beautiful spots. Norrbottens Destilleri Töre, close to Kalix, is where Norrbottens Destilleri produce the
