Fin de Siècle

Provence in France is where the QVT gin is made (Quatre-Vingt Trois is the area code for where the gin is distilled). One of the owners is Swedish, making our heart take some extra love beats when tasting the product.

It is a characteristic gin indeed, making you somehow feel all those spices, herbs and flowers surrounding Provence. Quite the floral gin to us, and we like it!

The cocktail we're using the QVT gin in is a classic Fin de Siècle. We thought a French-sounding drink would fit here. And seeing Picon Amer in the recipe further played along the French theming. And we really enjoyed the cocktail. It lets the gin shine through, but make sure it's nicely backed-up by both sweet vermouth and the Picon Amer.

QVT's still is hand-made by Christian CARL of Germany. There are some photos of it over at QVT's web page. The still is so beautiful, so no wonder the gin tastes good!
