Baltasar and Blimunda

Baltasar and Blimunda

For an Instagram surprise event organized by Matthias Soberon [https://www.instagram.com/servedbysoberon/] we were assigned to do a digital cheers with Fede [https://www.instagram.com/welcometomybar/], an active bar enthusiast on Instagram. Fede is originally from Italy, but nowadays he lives in the Netherlands. He loves vintage barware and glassware just like us, so we were assigned the perfect cocktail buddy in this event. To honor you Fede, and to acknowledge your impact on the Drinkstagram

The Humble Hero

The Humble Hero

The Humble Hero, he decided to call it… When we participated as judges in bar 20hundra5's [http://www.noll5.se/] Invitational Cocktail Competition a few weeks ago, talented bartender Linus Morgan [https://www.instagram.com/linusmorgan/] from Tap Room Kungsholmen [http://www.kitchenandtable.se/bars/tap-room-stockholm/] served us this original cocktail. And he did so after contemplating our order for a low-ABV-cocktail for only a few minutes. This drink didn't only appeal to us, but also everyb

Tartufo

Tartufo

Whenever we see a cocktail recipe with an unusual ingredient we need to make it. And the Tartufo, with its strong flavour of black truffle, is a bold cocktail that rewards those who are just like us - open to the unexpected. It may not seem like there is a lot of truffle in the cocktail, but it still taste a lot of it. In Greg Henry's book “Savory Cocktails” the flavour of the cocktail is described as a dark earthiness, which we think is a very accurate description. A unique, adult and serious

The Great Pretender

The Great Pretender

In The Great Pretender by Thomas Waugh there is a big splash of overproof rum. But as it is the amazing rum from Smith & Cross that's used this is totally fine if you ask us. It's such a wonderful rum with flavours of butterscotch, citrus and sugar. As there is also pineapple juice in this drink we wanted to use some pineapple cocktail picks. Getting them to balance with the little green pineapple facing upwards proved impossible. If you are looking at this photo on a smartphone you could turn

Lady Johnston

Lady Johnston

Today is my birthday! And I'm celebrating with a Lady Johnston cocktail created by Jessica Gonzalez; There's just something with fresh basil in cocktails. It's herbal and earthy, and it adds a wonderful pale green colour when muddled with clear spirits like in this one. What's also good about this drink is that you can alter the ABV by adding more or less club soda. This means it's a good drink to serve for guests who prefer less alcohol strong cocktails, while still being able to notice the r

Barbershop Medicine & Relaxed Lax

Barbershop Medicine & Relaxed Lax

Holiday time! Oh, it's on! There will be parties aplenty, special cocktails to make and meals to prepare! The multi talented Elin over at TRAVEL * FOOD * COOL [http://www.elin.ca/] and us were chatting the other day about special things to make for celebrating the holidays. As Elin is over in Canada (we still owe them a thank you for Celine Dion, Bryan Adams and whisky) and we're in Sweden, we wanted to do a joint post on the history of native Canadians and Swedes, especially from the north. Beholder's Eye

Beholder's Eye

Thank you Nick Assaur for being such an inspiration on Instagram, and for always being so supportive on our posts. Today we are excited to share our celebration to you, and your cocktail Beholder's Eye. And one could say this is also an homage to Canada and a few really nice Canadian products we discovered when we were in Vancouver this summer. First of all there was the fantastic Odd Society Spirits distillery where we sampled and bought most of the products used in this recipe. And there was

Brooklyn Eagle

Brooklyn Eagle

The Brooklyn Eagle gets a really nice colour from all that bourbon. Yes you are reading it correct, this is a 4,5 oz recipe with a whopping 2 oz of bourbon in it! Thankfully we had a large enough glass available. The good thing about the cocktail being so big is that it's actually a really delicious drink so being able to sip it for a long while is only nice. Also if you shake it long and hard enough there is the chance of a delicate foam forming on top of the cocktail, thanks to all that lime
